effing milenyo, effing blackout. good thing ust won.

Yes, I am still alive after the storm Milenyo hit Metro Manila. It is the first storm in ten years to hit MM directly.

Although I love it when it rains,I did not love Milenyo. For one, it was the cause for the suspension of classes from Thursday to Friday. Game two of the UAAP Finals Men’s Seniors Basketball was also postponed. I was scared the whole afternoon that the gusty winds may blow our house. But the worst effect Milenyo brought was the blackout . Nakakairita. Ilang araw walang kuryente sa bahay namin!! I am pretty sure most of you also did not have electricity for a number of days. Some of you may even be experiencing that predicament up to this very moment. Sobrang nasubukan talaga yung pasensya ko. Walang malamig na tubig pang-inom. We also did not have running water.

Woohoo, Thank God.

I texted Jewel immediately asking her if she had gotten Ja-Ne and I better tickets for today’s game. She said, she was almost 100% sure that her friends from Batanggas are not watching the game so we can have better tickets without lining up in Araneta early in the morning. And Luckily for Ja-Ne and I, Jewel’s friends decided not to watch the game.

Fast-forward to the game, I was feeling really optimistic that the Tigers would win game 2. The Eagles took Game 1 and could possibly have taken Game 2 and the Championship. But God had another plan. Jojo Duncil, Allan Evangelista, Anthony Espiritu were the usual suspects. Surprisingly, Jun Dizon stepped up his game. But the guy who really carried the team, aside from the crowd hehehe, was Dylan Ababou. It was D.A. Day. It has been a long time since nice guy Dylan brought out his A-game and what a time to bring it!

Sa Lunes, magkakaalamanan na. I am actually feeling really confident. But my confidence for the Tigers is not enough to win UST its first championship since 1996. Coach Pido Jarencio’s wards will have to work harder, perform better, and think tougher on Monday. This is the time of their lives—they might as well put it to good use.

I am going to be there supporting UST, and possibly watching my school get the championship.

Thank you, Lord, UST won today. 1 4 UST!!

Smile naman dyan. God bless us all!!

addict

i have a confession to make.

i am a tiger fan and a uaap addict. prior to the start of season 69, i was already feeling excited. now that the basketball games are about to draw to a close, i have found several reason for my over-eagerness along the way.

in my 1st two years as college student in ust, i saw the mens basketball team being butchered by other squads. i was not excited. on my 1st year, they placed 7th. on my 2nd year, they finished at 6th.

and now, look at where the tigers are--in the finals. although we lost game 1 in the series, i am still keeping the faith, and i know a lot of thomasians are.

addict. ako dahil sumipsip pa ako kay feu coach bert flores baka sakaling bentahan nila ako ng mas magandang tickets bukod sa gen ad. in fairness to those who sold us tickets, they said they were rooting for ust.

mamaya ang game 2 ng finals. nangangamoy game 3 ito, if u know what i mean.

at mamaya, magpapaka-addict. ulit ako!!

kitakits sa laro mamaya!! woohoo!!

go uste!!

black gold, black white; black and blue

It has been four days since the 2006 UAAP Cheerdance Competition. Aika and I were already at the Araneta Coliseum as early as 11 A.M. The contest was slated at 2 P. M. but we did not want to commit the same “late” mistake we had last year when we arrived at the venue just 5 mins. before the start of the competition and we had nowhere to sit.

This year, just like in all UAAP sports, la salle is absent for the CDC. They are not really suspended since the cheerdance is not considered as a UAAP sport, but they still opted not to join.

Even with the absence of DLSU, the Araneta was filled to the rafters. As in SRO crowd. Aika, Joyce, and I had a tough time getting back to our sits after the going to the restroom a few minutes before the competition started. It’s the fault of the hosts. They should have allotted a bigger space for the UST supporters.

Anyhow, everyone knows by now that the UST-Salinggawi Dance Troupe and the Yellow Jackets bagged their 5th straight CDC title. I love SDT and YJ!! They are followed by the FEU pep , which gave me a scare because they really performed well this year. UP came in third.

My classmates and I are a bunch of busy people. We have to come out with a magazine and a community paper. We have to accomplish a survey. And we have to train hamsters.
As for me, I still have Varsi on the side.

Earlier this afternoon, my magazine groupmates did a makeover on Clara and Joseph. We succeeded although Joseph did not want to get a new hairstyle. I will post the pictures later. You should have seen those two. They are really cute!! ^_^

The billing for the final 4 is now revealed after my beloved UST defeated Adamson 84-71. Great game, guys. Jodun is back, finally!!

So this is the schedule on Sunday.

2 PM Eagles vs. Falcons
4 PM Warriors vs Tigers

I am definitely going to watch the games on Sunday, no matter how busy are. Watching the games relieve me from all the stress brought about by my very hectic sked.

Smile naman dyan!! God bless us all!!
