Another short entry. My blog has been filled with short entries of late. My pc has still not been fixed. I am still thinking of ways on how to keep myself sane without my pc, without anything really good on TV and with Carrie winning American Idol. I actually got one yesterday when I went out with my HS friends. We watched Bikini Open. Very fun movie but I still have my reservations!! Haha!!

That’s all folks!! Thanx for being one with the fabulous epal!! God bless us all!!

Sundance. Rain dance. Finally, it rained early in the morning yesterday. Thunders were actually already heard the night before but the rain started to pour past 2 in the morning. I was just so happy hearing the water touch our roofs and reach the ground. I have never been so excited in such a while. The heat these days has been unbearable. No matter what I do, I sweat. I even received text messages last night that today’s temperature is predicted to reach 42 point-something Centigrade. Good thing that did not come true. I just enjoy each time I bathe. It gives me a certain feeling of freshness. I am currently using Sunsilk’s summer shampoo. I think it’s actually cooler than Head and Shoulders’ mint shampoo.

For 4 months now, I have been using Sun. I was previously with Globe but since most of my friends SIM-swapped already, I thought it was just practical to go with Sun. 4 months now and the only consolation I get is that when I compute all my text messages and all the calls I have made, I actually saved some penny. But ‘til this very moment, I have never been satisfied with the service I am getting. You call someone and it takes 500 years (hyperbole, of course.) for you to reach that person. It actually got better a few weeks ago- to my relief and to all other Sun subscribers’- but it went back to a poor state. Sun is also not known for its promos. Poor service, poor promos- that’s why the prices of its cards are confusing. Hayyyyy. SUNgkatutak na tawag at text. SUNgkatutak na paghihintay. SUNgkatutak na kaguuhan.

To those who are using Sun cellular, please stop sending me those chain text messages. They are creepy alright, but some of them were made to clog the very few Sun networks. Get the number of your enemies, and when a creepy text message is sent to you, don’t think twice, and send it immediately to your enemies!! Hayyyy!!

My lola is sick right now. I pray for her urgent recovery.

That was all folks!! Thanx for being one with the fabulous epal!! God bless us all!!

Sunday Morning. I was awake from my sleep which lasted less than 7 hours. I had a turned on the TV after I had a light breakfast. I was channel-surfing remote control-clicking when I tuned in to Star Sports. It was a tennis match- Masters’ Series in Rome. The game was between two really hot tennis players- Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer. I had a kick watching them… and well hearing them shout as they smash the ball back to their opponent. It was like hearing two very gorgeous men moan. Haha!! I just can’t stop myself from laughing with what I realized. Rafael Nadal won the match. And the moaning stopped. I gotta see the finals. I gotta see the finals!! Hahaha!!

Today is, of course, no ordinary Sunday. It’s mothers’ day today. I stand by my belief that the apostrophe should be placed after the “s” and not before it. This day is a tribute to all mothers and not just to one mother that’s why I think that the apostrophe should be placed after “s”. Enough about that. The apostrophe does not matter today- it’s our mothers who matter- not just today but every day, every hour, every minute, every second, every moment. You may all know that I do not live with my mom. We have not been living together since I was in the 5th grade, and since then she has produced more kids to compensate for such great loss. Haha!! She has not lost me to such great extent though. We still see each other every now and then. My mom is very special to me. She may have disappointed me (it’s a different world now. It’s now the parents who disappoint their kids today. Haha!!) for so many times, but at the end of the day, my love for her is paramount.

I can still remember when I was young; she would assist me with my assignments. She was my first English teacher. She would also tell me stories at night before I go to sleep. I miss the times when she would cook for me or fetch me from school. I miss the times when she would sleep with me during the afternoon or would bribe me just for me to doze-off early.

One of her best gifts to me is her acceptance of the fact that I am gay. Haha!! I can tell her stories about boys (my boys and other’s too. Haha) with all the freedom I can muster. We can also be naughty when we’re together. She is a very cool mom!! I just love her. She may have her own family now but I know that she stills love me and she knows that I love her too. That’s why readers, please treasure your moms while you still can. Our moms are gems!! Hayyyy, kelan kaya ako magiging ina? Hahaha!!

That’s all folks!! Thanx for being one with the fabulous epal!! God bless us all especially our mothers!!

Stop it. The Philippines has been proclaimed as the deadliest place for journalists by the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists or CPJ. Our country is being followed by Iraq, Colombia and Bangladesh. This has of course alarmed many media practitioners in the country. But not really. Journalists in our country walk in the streets or dine in restaurants knowing that they could be the next victim. Bulls**t Secretary Bunye. How dare you call the pronouncements exaggerated? Has the government done anything to resolve such disturbing problem?

Funny how the Philippines is considered a democratic country when journalists get killed and/or assaulted because of their profession; because of their job to be watchdogs; because of their job to tell the people what the real score is. Maybe, because the Philippines is a “democratic” country, the assailants are also given the freedom to attack the poor media men any time they wish to or any time their bosses tell them to push through with the plan.

Certainly, there are more journalists in Iraq who got killed in the past few years than in the Philippines. But Iraq’s story is different. It isn’t a democratic country; a war on terror has just been waged against it- that’s why most of the journalists killed in Iraq were killed in crossfires.

Being a Journalism student and hearing these things, I am filled not with determination but with doubts if I shall continue with my studies knowing that the Philippines is the most dangerous place for journalists to be in (not that I am planning to work here. I, of course, have plans to go and work abroad.) I know I can fare well in other fields which are much safer and pay much higher compared to the one I am planning to get in. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that Journalists in our country get very little salaries; some even work unpaid. It is a general truth-accepted without proof. So classmates, do not be surprised if many of us will shift to another career as time progresses. Maybe, I will just become a beauty queen!! Haha!!

When our Journ Soc jackets were distributed there was this one joke that our barkada shared. You see, our journ jackets have the phrase “Journ ako” at the back. Nakakatakot daw isuot ‘yung jacket kasi baka daw bigla ka na lang patayin. Hahaha!! Then and now, I am not sure if that is just a joke. Maybe, even then, we were realizing a truth.

This may seem too little to be dedicated to journalists-alive or dead. Nonetheless, I am going to offer this to the watchdogs of the society. You are heroes. I also pray that those journalists who were killed be given justice and those who plan to kill journalists for the fear that the truth will be revealed, may they go to hell the moment they think of their plans. Stop killing journalists!! Stop endangering the truth!!

That’s all, folks!! Thanx for being one with the fabulous epal!! God bless us all, except those guilty of killing journalists!!
